Alsina – Found at the brink of death
Alsina was brought in with an eye infection so severe that she had lost both eyes and was completely blind. She was in such a deplorable state that we were shocked that she was still alive. Alsina was just skin and bones with no muscle on her body. So unwell that she was just urinating whilst lying down leaving her in an extremely pitiful condition.
We were not sure how she came to be in such a state as she appeared to be a lost or abandoned pet. So serious was her condition that the vets thought the most humane thing to do would be to euthanise her. But Alsina wanted to live and 30 minutes away from the decision to euthanise her, she stood up and tried to move around. At that moment we knew that we had to do everything in our power to help her heal.
Against the thousand obstacles thrown her way, Alsina rose from the ashes like a phoenix. She had as suspected completely lost vision and had to have an eyeball removal surgery. She began to eat and day by day gained weight and adjusted to life without sight. Today Alsina is well and loved in her forever home, her mother describes her as the best cat in the world. An incredibly brave girl and we are so in awe of her strength.
