Our Mission & Vision
Creating a Pakistan safe for all kinds

MISSION
To protect street, working, and companion animals through community outreach, medicine, and long or forever shelter. To reduce Pakistan's free-roaming population by implementing the humane method of spay and neuter projects.
To encourage animal adoptions through awareness and to end animal suffering by building a community where animals are respected as beings and treated with kindness through education, advocacy, and rescue services. To instil compassion in the hearts of community members by first-hand interaction and saving lives together as a result.
Vision
To create a better world one rescue story at a time. Our vision is to end the abuse and suffering of all free roaming animals in Pakistan. To create safer spaces for street animals by building a community where all animals are valued and treated with compassion and kindness.

The Story Behind Todd's Welfare Society
Todd’s Welfare Society is named in honour of a dog that belonged to Kiran Maheen, the founder of TWS.

Todd was a much-loved pet but on the 12th of April 2010, Todd who was then only 3 years old stepped out of the house and sadly was never seen again. Kiran searched for days, this search led to months and then years but Todd was never found. This loss of her dog made her look at the animal world in a new light.
on Friday 5th March 2016, Kiran received a call from a friend Umer Rajpoot (Co-founder and current Finance Director). He informed her of a dog that had been shot 4 times in the face near his house. The bullets had pierced through both her eyes, blinding her. The extent of the dog’s injuries was severe and she had to be euthanized. The dog was named Joanne before burial as no one should die nameless.
And so, it was this needless murder of Joanne that on the 6th of March 2016, TODD’s Welfare Society came into being.
TWS is not just an NGO, it is a passion, It is an idea; the idea that all lives matter, the idea that for us to be human we need to be compassionate, we need humanity, we need to treat the creatures who we share this earth with, with respect.
Our story is of love, loss, and of compassion.
