Project Snip

Project SNIP

SNIP = Spay Neuter Intervention Program. A project for free-roaming street and community cats to reduce the number of unwanted litters and to save thousands of cats from a life of suffering. Initiated to commemorate World Spay Day in February of 2021 - with PROJECT SNIP 100. We collaborated with clinics all over Lahore and in an exemplary display of teamwork spayed/neutered 100 street/community cats in under a month. Helping the community by spaying/neutering cats for residents who care for the cats but were unable to afford the fees of these extensive procedures, and saving the cats from hundreds of unwanted litters.

Project Snip is the only spay/neuter project in Pakistan that caters to community and street cats. It is not only Pakistan’s first Spay Neuter Program for stray and free-roaming cats, but also the largest program of its kind.

This is such an important project of ours that we try to do a bigger run every other year. In 2023, we initiated Project Snip 150 to spay/neuter 150 cats within a duration of three months. All cats were vaccinated for rabies under this project to help fight the rabies endemic.

A total of 250 cats have been spayed/neutered for FREE, at no cost to the community whatsoever. It is incredibly imperative to work together in order to support the community members with such projects especially when these surgeries are otherwise unaffordable.

Project Snip is a much needed project which will keep running and helping community cats and their caretakers so that as a community, we can give these cats a healthier life where they do not have to constantly fear for their babies or watch them die of diseases/ hit and run accidents.
