TNVR Project Youhanabad

TNVR Project Youhanabad

TWS recognizes that issues around the free-roaming population are genuine and to eliminate these issues we have been working extra hard to promote TNVR – the scientifically proven method which not only reduces the stray dog population but also eradicates rabies from society.

So, a new project that got off the ground was Yuhanabad TNVR. This area was chosen due to the high number of rescue calls received to rescue dogs usually suffering from open maggot wounds. Before the actual TNVR project was started a survey was conducted amongst the locals.

What was noticed was how eager they were to engage in this project as they actually cared for the well-being of these dogs. The team led an awareness camp to explain how TNVR works and that once released back into the community the tagged dogs will not be able to reproduce and will pose no threat of rabies. The message of co-existence and no to dog culling was spread but thankfully the residents were more than happy to be part of this project. Since its start, we have spayed and neutered a total number of 19 dogs.
